DAS is looking to hire a Corporate Communications/Web & Multimedia Development Programmer (Technical) in the St. Louis, MO.
Overall Assignment Description:
The candidate shall update and technically maintain multiple websites for the N2W program, with relevant, accurate and timely information. The established external, public-facing N2W website requires daily updates supporting U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and NGA information needs for the public. The SBU internal website must be developed to support a variety of information needs for the workforce, and the NGANet website must be further developed to provide additional, classified information for N2W.
Duties
Translate ideas and concepts into professional, web-based products applying effective web development skills.
Provides Angular Software Development with demonstrated ability to act in a lead technical role for a communications team.
Provides both technical guidance, and design consultation with customers.
Works with customers to translate ideas and concepts into professional, web-based products.
Implements a proactive customer review and approval process for all updates.
Provides development of Single Page Applications (SPA), across multiple domains using Angular, enterprise CI/CD cloud-based technologies such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) tools like Cloud Foundry.
Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and programs using Agile development practices.
Refactors code, as needed, to align with Agile development practices and Agency web development requirements.
Supports unique initiatives for web development, content organization, and special projects (e.g., surveys, video) that require technical fluency.
Converts site(s) to SharePoint templates under development by the agency and at the government’s direction.
Demonstrates knowledge of NGA system capabilities and limitations in support of website platforms, production and hosting.
Coordinates with NGA’s technology teams to ensure specific NGA requirements are met for website domain placement and overall content management utilizing agency tools and procedures.
Adapts websites, as needed, to ensure alignment with OCC, CIOT and SI standards.
Protects sites by designing and installing security precautions IAW NGA-approved security processes and certificates.
Recommends and implements improvements to content format, navigation and design to produce intuitive, well-organized and modern websites.
Maintains website records (e.g., history, authors, contributors, revision dates, etc.).
Updates the web maintenance plan for all N2W websites with current and accurate information at all times.
Design and layout all reports, documents, and publications, and ensure they are easily transferred to and retrievable from the N2W website.
Support unique initiatives for web page design, content organization, and special projects (e.g., surveys, reporting, etc.) that require technical fluency to generate databases, programs, and designs within NGA system capabilities.
Coordinate with NGA’s technology teams to ensure specific NGA requirements are met for website domain placement and overall content management utilizing agency tools and procedures.
Ensure the N2W websites are professionally formatted in accordance with NGA (OCC) and SI standards and are updated on a regular basis.
Manage information content: identify, coordinate, and delete outdated or obsolete information; include value-added news and/or features; maintain consistency throughout web pages.
Coordinate with N2W leadership as well as other NGA offices/components to obtain and post supplemental information, links, etc.
Maintain website records (e.g., history, authors, contributors, revision dates, etc.).
Develop a web maintenance plan for maintaining the websites with current and accurate information at all times.
Manage tasks by prioritizing workload and effectively interacting with a wide range of customers.
Work closely with the Office of Corporate Communications, Security and Installation web teams and Chief Information Office/Technology web managers to ensure adherence to agency branding and process guidelines.
Incorporate storyboarding as identified by the N2W PMO.
Protect sites by designing and installing security precautions IAW NGA-approved security process.
Coordinate reviews and approvals with the N2W PMO and the Office of Corporate Communications to include approvals of external web site details for Public Release.
Skills and Experience:
Required:
A bachelor’s degree in web development, web technology, digital media or similar.
11 years of overall experience
Demonstrated 5 years’ experience with web/client development using Angular Single Page Applications (SPA), across multiple domains using enterprise CI/CD cloud-based technologies such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) tools like Cloud Foundry.
Demonstrated 4 years’ experience using Jira and Confluence programs and tools.
Demonstrated 4 years’ experience designing, coding, testing, debugging documents, and programs using Agile development practices to support web development.
Demonstrated 3 years’ experience converting websites to SharePoint domains.
Desired
A Master’s degree in web development, web technology, digital media or similar.
